OUR VINTAGE CHARM
Our cottages are full of charm, heritage and character. The floors creak, the wood moves and a very special atmosphere reigns here. This is what we try to preserve while offering enhanced comfort and modern features to our customers. They remain "perfectly imperfect" and that is part of the experience.
On May 15, 2024, a new page is written for the Village Suisse with its acquisition by Justin and Catherine Archambault, brother and sister passionate about hospitality and local tourism. With a modern vision, while respecting the rustic and authentic soul of the place, they undertake a renovation and beautification project to enhance the comfort of the chalets and improve the infrastructure.
From the moment they took possession, they focused on the customer experience, combining modernity and old-world charm. Each chalet, although different, offers a perfect balance between contemporary comfort and a warm atmosphere: wood-burning fireplace, equipped kitchens, spa and heated swimming pool.
A new era: the takeover of the Swiss Village
Our history dates back to the 1940s, when the P'tit Train du Nord transported people from the city to Val-David, or rather Bélisle Mills, as the station was called at the time. In those years of tourist prosperity, the Laurentians were booming, and inns, which have now become institutions, even legends, were emerging.
The Swiss Village was initially a group of seasonal family chalets. Between the 1940s and 1960s, new chalets were built to meet the needs of vacationers seeking nature and tranquility. Today, there are eight chalets that make up this enchanting site, nestled in the heart of the Laurentians.
OUR HISTORY
Today, the Swiss Village of Val-David is a haven for families, couples, outdoor enthusiasts, and even teleworkers looking for an inspiring setting. Located near the center of Val-David, it allows visitors to discover the local markets, craft shops, and festivals that bring the region to life throughout the year.
More than just a chalet site, the Swiss Village has become a unique destination, where nature, comfort and history intermingle to offer travelers a memorable getaway.
Whether for a rejuvenating stay in the heart of the forest, a sporting adventure in the mountains or a moment of relaxation with the family, the Swiss Village continues to write its history, throughout the seasons and generations.
